One of those days

Have you ever had 'one of those days'?  The days when you just don't feel you can bring yourself to do anything?  I feel exhausted today.  I don't know if it's from allergies (I'm highly allergic to corn pollen - not good when you live in the middle of farm country) or from the fact that the Lego King came into our room last night - and slept on my side of the bed (he kept seeing a light blinking in his window & it scared him - it was the reflection from his Star Wars alarm clock).

I have worked really hard this summer to declutter & maintain cleanliness/pick-upped-ness.... I've been trying daily to have dishes out of the sink, laundry caught up & excess crap out of the kitchen, bathroom, hallway & living room (the 4 rooms I have worked hard to declutter).  I have tried to vacuum & sweep every day or at least every other day.  I don't even want to do the basics today.

I know I have to do something.  I thought of going upstairs & working in my craft room a little more.  I did some again yesterday.  I just need to keep going.

Hopefully energy will come... otherwise, I feel like I'll be behind.  And I CAN'T go there.

What do you do when you feel exhausted & unmotivated?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Are You Ready?

Well, not much went on today... just thought that I'd post an update of what has been going on in general around here....

Ready?.....

Are you sure?....

You're really ready, right?...

Ahem.... Ok, here goes....

There has been NOTHING going on......

Ok... Today was a big, fat zero on the decluttering scale.  Today was a day spent taking Bigfoot to the Burn Unit up at the 'Big Hospital' up in the city.  Second degree burns on his left palm.  They gave him one of those special gloves to wear (the kind of nylon material, tight stretchy thing that burn patients wear). Told him he needs to keep it clean, no heavy lifting, keep it away from heat, etc., etc.... Oh, and that he'll live.... whew!

One thing the Big City Doctor did tell him, was to NOT use the Silver Sulfadiazine that had been prescribed by our local Urgent Care doctor.  The city we live in relatively small, compared to the 'Big City & the Big Hospital' and Mr. High-and-Mighty-Doctor* said that using the silver stuff is 'old school' and NOT highly recommended anymore (like all doctors that work in our area are backwoods, podunk, horse-doctors).  He said that the silver in the ointment causes the wound to turn a grayish/silver color and he can't evaluate if it has improved or not.  What he did say that you should use is; Polysporin (the bacteria-busting-cousin to Neosporin).  Ima get some of that for our first aid kit(s) and throw out the 'Burn Cream'.

*This doctor actually 'tsked' and shook his head... picked up the prescription we had brought along & then tossed it onto the counter like it was contaminated... Other than his superiority complex, he seemed very knowledgeable & I have heard good things about him.

Yesterday afternoon I did go up & declutter some in my craft room.  I feel like I at least have a bigger, better path through it.  Looking around, I think there is a bunch up there that I can part with now.  Since I've figured out how to be ruthless downstairs here I can now tackle things closer to my heart - like my crafts.  I just looked at my calendar & decided the date of our Garage Sale... it will be August 26th & 27th.... Then I'm done.... at the end, what doesn't sell will go to Goodwill and Ima try my hand at Craig's List for a couple of things.  From then on EVERYTHING will go to Goodwill as I get a full box.

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Durn Kids!

Bigfoot's car is dead.  Something about a blown head-gasket.  He & a friend were supposed to work on it... ohhh, about a month and a half ago!!  I remember (for once - why are you so surprised?) that I had just gotten done with school.  Anyhow, he's been having Nana-Next-Door (my mother & yes, she lives next door - but that's a whole 'nother story) and me take him back & forth to work.

His father offered to buy him a car to use while his was getting fixed (I know, I know.... you're as stunned as I am, after all these years he wants to be a stand-up kinda dad.... go figure).  Then when Bigfoot's was fixed, he'd resell the car.  We figured that we'd wait until Bigfoot was done with the car & then convince him NOT to sell it so that The Princess would have a vehicle.  (Just this past weekend he came to that conclusion on his own... again.... we're stunned)  So the ball is in my Ex's court - don't know if he's going to get a car or not or just blowing smoke up our butts.

So, back to the durn kids..... last night I went to pick up Bigfoot, he's a welder.  And he hops in the car with all of his safety stuff & a frozen soda bottle (filled with water) wrapped in a rag.  I said, 'Ok, what'd you do now?'  'Oh, I just burned my hand a little bit.'  'Really?  Let me see.'..... Well, my idea of 'a little bit' and his idea of 'a little bit' are vastly different.  About 50-60% of his palm was blistered.  Thank goodness for my Girl Scout First Aid Training.... He's all 'It'll be ok.'.... I'm all 'We need to get you to Urgent Care'.... so off we go to Urgent Care - 'cause Mama Rules the Roost....

They patched him up.  Gave him a prescription - of course at 9:30 at night - no pharmacy is open.... sheesh... So I have to run down & get his scrips (because he has no car)... then run him to work to fill out paperwork.... then run him to another Urgent Care in a nearby town.... they're connected to the doctors who do Worker's Comp and they don't have an appointment open today..... because it's in the same office & the same people, they can see him at the Urgent Care.... Go figure...

I guess I'll always be 'The Mama'... takin' care of those Durn Kids!!

Bye! Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Uniformity

I recently joined a committee that is discussing the implementation of school uniforms in the public school district that my kids attend & I work in.

Working in the middle school, I wholeheartedly agree that it would be wonderful - a vast improvement.  I see a wide range of clothing from sports type (Under Armor & team jerseys), to conservative (what most people would consider school appropriate) to hooker style (booty shorts, bra straps hanging out, thin strapped cammies, pants down under butts & underwear showing) and lets not forget the vast amount of 'boob-age'.  We live in an area with a diverse population, economically (60% of our school population receives free or reduced lunches), racially, socially, probably just about all of the 'ly's' that you could think of & it is somewhere in our school district.

Teachers, Staff and Administration get all kinds of flack from kids not wanting to adhere to our dress code.  So, we'll know tomorrow (once our Board meets) if the gauntlet will fall.  We'll implement slowly - voluntary in September 2011; Mandatory tops (polo shirts with 3 colors to chose from) for 6th - 12th grades starting January 2012; Mandatory tops & bottoms (black & khaki chino style pants/knee-length Bermuda shorts or skirts) for Pre-K - 12th grades starting September 2012.

There are those studies that show that it's wonderful - it's helped with discipline, bullying, it's built a sense of team, and pride in schools.  The other side of the coin is that it squashes a student's diversity, their individuality.  I choose to believe that it will help our school.  I choose to believe that it will be a positive thing.

The Lego King (entering 6th grade - with me.... mwaahhahahahha) and The Princess (entering 11th grade) aren't so sure about it.  I've tried to let them know how much easier it will be to get ready for school.  No matter what top they grab or what bottom they grab it will go together!  How easy would that be?  But they're still waffling.  It won't be a choice though.  I'm sure that it will be approved by the Board.  Technically school uniforms could cost about $100-125 for a set - 4 - $10-12 for bottoms (Walmart school uniforms) 2 pairs of shorts & 2 pairs of pants.  4 - $12-15 monogrammed tops (local school approved vendor).   I have heard that people spend TONS more.

I would like to have to wear school uniforms myself.  Some teachers & staff would balk - it's not in the contracts.  I know that I would personally save tons of money just on myself.

We'll see.  What do you think?  Uniforms or no?

Just call me Gloria Gaynor

I survived!!  We had seven 10-12 year olds that attended the Lego King's Pirate Party.  I think all in all they had a good time.  Bigfoot stopped by & helped the Princess fill 98 water balloons - taking 2 hours!!  The group pelted each other with all of them in a matter of 5 minutes.  Lol.

Everything went well, except that my 'plank' was too wide & no one was losing their balance & falling off.  So we switched to a landscaping timber that is basically a 2x4 - that worked better.

I have been putzing around all morning & finally got my shower.  I'm going to do a short & quick clean up/pick up down here & then I'm going to reward myself.  I am going to organize/work/play in my craft room.  To me, organizing that is 'fun'.  I enjoy touching all of my creative supplies & putting them in spots that will make them easily accessible is fun for me.

The good thing is that I am still in that 'tossing' mood & so I'll be able to get rid of stuff that doesn't need to be in there.

I'm going to go play.... What do you do to 'play'?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Arrrggghh Matey! Please Stand By....

May I have your attention please?  Would you please stand by?  The Garage Sale, has been postponed in favor of a Blow Out Birthday Party.

Ok.... is WaaahhhhHOOOOO!!!! to much?  Do you think I should have shouted said it like this:  WaaahhhhHOOOOO!!!!?  I really DO want to have a Garage Sale (since King Turd thought that would be the best route with all the crap stuff we had boxed up), but with the heat - broke the record for the area yesterday - Good Gawd!  Was it HOT!! - and the high winds, it would have blown the portable garage right down the road.  So it will be in August like we had originally planned.  That will help getting everything around & done.  Which makes it so I don't spaz.... 'Cause I'm a planner.

I'm a BIG procrastinator planner.  Everything has to be just so.  I've always been this way, so it's easier to work with my personality if ya just let me plan stuff & YOU do what I say - I never have a problem with anyone if they do that... lol

We'll be having a whoppin', big 11th Birthday Party for the Lego King.  As whoppin' and as big as he's probably ever gonna get.  Here's the plan:

Pirate Theme Birthday Party:

Guests arrive & make their own pirate necklaces.  We have tons of pony beads that the kids used when they were into making Beadie-Buddies.  And we bought pirate compasses as the main piece on the necklace.  They'll be threading those onto shoe laces that I picked up at $1 store.  That way I won't have to tape the ends of the yarn.

We'll then have a Treasure Hunt.  Each guest will be given  a Treasure Map with Pirate 'X's' on them.  At each location will be some 'pirate booty'.  They'll each have a little cardboard pirate chest to put their booty in. Pirate eye patch, ear ring, skeleton, spy glass, etc.

Then we'll be making Pirate Hooks.  We'll take those big red plastic cups & a bendy straw (that we'll cover with foil) and we'll poke it through the end of the cup.  Then we'll play a game where they will have 60 seconds to hook as many pretzels as they can.  That will be their first snack.

Then we'll have a water balloon fight - pirate boat against pirate boat - don't know quite how I'm gonna do that yet.

Then the next thing is to make swords - they'll take that round foam pipe insulation (kind of like those pool noodles only skinnier) & using a piece of fun foam make a hand guard.  Then we'll play a game called Walk the plank.... where they have a sword fight and the first one to step off flat boards on the ground loses.

Then cake & ice cream & presents.

The winners of the games will get to pick a prize out of our 'Prize Box'.  When the Lego King was struggling in school we set up a reward system (stuff from garage sales, the $1 store, etc).  He had a behavior plan & if he accomplished this or that, he'd receive a prize from the Prize Box.... That's no longer in place, but we have tons of prizes left - what better way to get rid of them than to share?

That's our Pirate Party/Garage Sale Free Weekend.  What are you doing for fun?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

To Reply or Not To Reply

I've been thinking this over for a couple of weeks or more (I can't remember - I'm brilliant like that)... Should I reply to blog posts or not?  It's not like I have a ton of followers... I have 4 (Thank you faithful followers!!)... Which made me jump up and down & scream in my kitchen... King Turd of Poop Mountain thinks I'm nuts, but the Princess, grabbed my hands & jumped up & down with me.... She's my favorite child at the moment....

Anyhoot... back to my question.... it's not like I have a gazillion followers.  So do I reply to them?  Or just to some of them?  And what do you say?  Thanks for stopping by, your comment made my day? (Which, most likely, it did).

And what about those replies left by the other bloggers that I've left a comment on?  Do I reply back to them?  How long is the conversation supposed to last?

Am I rude not replying?  Should I go back to the beginning & say 'Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for posting.'?  Or should I just start replying?  Or should I NOT reply?  Does that make me stuck up?  Does it make those other people who leave comments think like me & say 'Hmmm, I wonder if she ever got that comment?  Maybe she didn't like that comment & didn't post it.'

What is common blog comment/reply courtesy?  Help!!

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

PS.  Decluttered lots today in the kitchen:  Tops of cupboards, Upper cupboards, and all of the drawers - including the junk drawer.... which I took pictures of, but still can't figure out how to load them.... lol

And the Countdown Continues

Thank you, Casey Kasem!!  Well, the living room is cleaned & decluttered.  The downstairs hallway is decluttered & partially clean (It's too hot & I've got too much to finish this week to clean the carpet - that will have to wait until next week).  Now I'm going to be working on the kitchen.  There is not too much to declutter in here I don't think.  But just a little more organizing would help... alot.   The thing that makes this look the worst is my desk - it's trashed.  I never did get to it last week,  so I really need to dig in & finish it this week.

The schedule I have in my mind is to work like a fiend & get the rest of the house decluttered.  About Wednesday, we'll set up the portable garage & start taking stuff out there... it has 4 sides so we can close it up.  I decided to save myself some time & just have a big poster board with prices on it & then have tables that will be priced all the same.  I figure people are generally pretty honest at garage sales.  I'm trying to remember the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Best get busy.  I'll let you know the progress I'm making...

BTW - today is the Lego King's 11th birthday?  Where does the time go?  My baby is all grown up!  It's sad, but exciting too...

What are you KISSing today?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Progress

This week I've been working on decluttering & cleaning the downstairs hallway.  I've got some more to finish up in there.  I've organized the bookshelves above the game/school supply cupboard.  I went through some of the games.  There were some that I wanted to take out of the cupboard & put in the camper.  Travel sized games, card games & hand held games went into a clear zippered bag (like the kind you get new sheets in)  That will keep them all in one place in the camper.  I got rid of 2 boxes of games, books & manipulatives that we don't use anymore - those are going in the garage sale.  I also organized the shelf above the door that heads into the kitchen.  It's just extra school supplies (papers, 3 ring binders, etc) but now they're contained in 1/4-size plastic crates.  Yeah!  I don't think we'll need too many school supplies this year.  VERY few things.

Today I delivered stuff that had been put in piles (to move to another room) to the right spots.  And I thoroughly vacuumed everything & got down cobwebs. There are just a few more things that I want to organize & then I'll move on to possibly the bedroom.  THAT I think would make King Turd happy.

I have one more week to get the rest of my decluttering done.  I really don't think that I will be able to get to it all.  I'm not really worried about it though.  It will eventually get done.  I'll have to discuss with King Turd if he thinks I should try & have a yard sale this coming Saturday or wait until August like I had originally planned.  Since now I REALLY know that I probably won't finish decluttering everything.

How are you coming with your decluttering projects?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Wastefulness

I am so disgusted with myself.  I had a $65 rebate coming.... since May..... all I had to do was fill out the paperwork & send in the ends of the boxes.... All the paperwork was basically filled out by the doctor's office... all I had to do was do the mailing part....

Guess what I didn't do.... nope... didn't send it in on time.... know when it was due?  2 days ago.... yes, TWO DAYS AGO....

All because my desk looks like a disaster area.  All because I don't have a system in place.... All because I've been procrastinating.... Dumb, dumb, dumb....

How many other things have I lost out on by procrastinating?  How much time & money have I lost out on because 'I had better things to do with my time'.

THAT is precisely the reason I want to declutter our home.  Get rid of stuff that is taking up time & brain power to manage waste.  I don't have time to waste, nor money to waste for that matter.

I have a plan in my mind of what I want my 'Control Center' to look like.  I have all of the supplies to do it.  The thing I don't have right now, right this minute, is time to complete it.  I have to FOCUS.  Focus, focus, focus on getting this house decluttered.  I have until the 23rd to get the majority of it done.

I want to reward myself with time to spend in my craft room.  Organizing it.  'Playing in it.'  Creating in it.  So that means - right now, for just a little over a week more I MUST FOCUS on getting this house decluttered.  Then I can play.

Organizing my craft room will be 'play' to me.  I'm excited to do that, it doesn't seem like work when I'm in there doing things like that.

No more excuses.... I MUST FOCUS and be less wasteful...

Shall I bend over so you have a clear shot to kick me in the butt?  Feel free to prod me along!

Bye! Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Trying NOT To Blow the House Up

You know those days when you'd kinda like to blow your house up?  Just to get rid of all of the debris that is in it?  King Turd says we should just tip it upside-down & shake everything out & then put back only the stuff we really want.  We have jokingly said to the neighbors & friends, if you see the house on fire, toss on a few more gallons of gas before you call the fire department!

But truth be told, I love my circa. 1830's farmhouse.  It is not plumb, it's drafty, it creaks & moans... BUT, it has character.  For instance, we found that the back half of the house was added on - with just beams butting up to beams (no wonder it sagged 13" below the rest of the house)... that at one time there must have been a fire in what is now our bedroom - there are partially charred floorboards when you look up in the cellar.... Or how about the hidden door in the ONLY closet upstairs - the one that hides a small windowless room - we think it was part of the Underground Railroad.  How cool is all that for character?

So, I guess, because I love my house - and King Turd lived through a devastating house fire where his family lost EVERYTHING when he was a teenager - I don't want to blow up the house.  Can you imagine?  No pictures, no first hand prints or drawings?  No wedding glasses?  No christening outfits?  No insurance cards, birth certificates, bank statements?  No grandmother's rings to pass on?  No nothing?  Everyday simple things would become a huge effort - no towels for a shower (no shower), no pen to write something down (nor paper to write on), no medicine.  No baking, no cooking, no playing games with my kids.  No crafting, no snuggling under a blanket & reading favorite books or watching movies.  Nope, I don't want to blow the house up.

So when the propane people came to get one of the 2 humongous tanks out of our yard they have to check for leaks in the line.  State law or something about not allowing houses to blow up - I think they're just lazy & don't want to help declutter & clean.  So this guy comes with this little hand held ticky thing that reminded me of an electronic metronome... it ticked faster when it detected a propane leak.... Guess what... Our oven was leaking.... mmmhhhmmmm, yep..... I AM NOT CRAZY.... every once in awhile I would smell propane & when we called the propane company & they came & checked & said, nope it's fine.... Well come to find out - it wasn't..... it was leaking.... some little magnetic valve thingy wasn't working.  Soooooo, this guy took BOTH the humongous tanks (because, you know, we can't be trusted that we won't turn the propane back on & blow up our house while they're gone) and we went & bought a new stove.  Our stove was 7 years old (and I looked up that the life of a modern propane stove is supposed to be about 15 years) but it would have cost more than 1/2 the price of a new stove to fix it.  King Turd decided it would just be easier to get a new stove & be safe.  Gotta love King Turd of Poop Mountain.

Despite the fact that it would reallllly make my life alot simpler if the house blew up, I opt for decluttering & cleaning & getting rid of stuff..... no easy way out for me.... *sigh*  How are you coming with your decluttering & cleaning?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

The Race Is On

Well, the race is on.  No, no, not NASCAR - bleck!  I'd much rather watch Formula 1.  But I do recall watching hours & hours of NASCAR when I was a kid.... anyhow.... off track (pun intended)....

King Turd of Poop Mountain and The Lego King came home Friday morning & plopped Birthday Invitations down on the table.... mmmhhhmmm, yup.... And THEN decided they would ask if The Lego King could have a Birthday Party.... seems they had made plans on the way to & from town.... It's scheduled for the 23rd.... two weeks away.  I get to plan & carry it out though... woo hoo... lucky me!!

Guess what else is scheduled for the 23rd?  The neighborhood garage sales.... oh yeah... you know the ones, where you get tons & tons of people going by?  And you've got tons & tons of crap stuff to foist off on sell to some unsuspecting fool frugal bargain hunter.  I've decided that I'm going to have a garage sale that day too.  I know.... I'm nuts.  The thing is, is that most of the people come early in the morning & it's pretty much done & over with by noon or so.  His party is from 1-4...

In the meantime, I have to finish decluttering the hallway, our bedroom, the kitchen, the bathroom, help the Lego King declutter his room, I'd like to get things out of the storage closet in his room, The Princess will be decluttering her own room AND don't forget the stuff in the shed out back.  ALL done by the 23rd of this month.... I. AM. NUTS.

The good thing about doing a garage sale this soon, instead of waiting until August (like I wanted to), is that it will kick me in the butt to really get things done.  I'm one of those people who likes to save things (King Turd is too, if truth be told - but ya didn't hear that from me) - because for years, during my 1st marriage, I never knew if I would be able to afford to replace something.   I did better the 2nd time around.  I have to say this about King Turd of Poop Mountain:  He. Is. Awesome.  He spoils me.  I have never wanted for anything.  Have I had to wait for stuff?  Sometimes, but if it was something that I wanted or needed (within reason) he would get it for me.

He's also pretty awesome about getting rid of stuff.  He has given me permission (not that I needed it, but it's nice to know that he's on-board with me) to get rid of stuff we don't need or use or that we've outgrown as individuals or a family.  I worried before that I might get rid of something that we'd need or he be upset if I got rid of something and wasn't 'frugal enough'.  You know what?  He's not.  He says 'If we don't need it, get rid of it!'  The only thing I DON'T do is get rid of HIS stuff.  I get rid of mine & the household stuff and the kids stuff... He needs to make decisions on HIS stuff... not me...

We talked about this enormous pile that we have in the shed & the start of the enormous pile here in the house -  Should we even bother having a garage sale?  Should we just get rid of it?  He said we should try & sell what we can - THEN get rid of what we can't sell.  Smarty pants, why didn't I think of that?  Oh yeah, I was just thinking of ALL the work I'd have to do to get ready for it!!.... Anyhoot from then on after that - we can get rid of as we go along.  I don't/won't have to collect stuff or do another garage sale - ever again!!  YEAH!

Are you getting rid of your stuff?  Or are you throwing a Birthday Party?  Or are you NUTS, like me, and doing both on the same day?

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

REAL Adventures in Duckville

Every blue moon once in awhile I do something crazy.  I know, right?  Like the time in college when I took a shortcut and I drove across the sidewalk.  Much to my shrieking friends delight (AND yes, K & C, you MUST admit you WERE delighted!!).

This adventure was by accident.... HONEST!!!!  Remember how I told you a week or so ago that Bigfoot's car had broken down & I had turned into 'Mom's Taxi Service'?  And remember how I've been working my butt off to declutter & I had 'Three Bags Full' of stuff to get rid of?

One of those nights, Bigfoot's day ran late, so it was getting dusky out by the time he was done.  I had the 'Three Bags Full' in the back of the car & wanted to drop them off.  But I didn't want to drop them off at the Salvation Army in town.  I know, I know - I'd rather have it go someplace else - to some Salvation Army/Goodwill in some other town instead of my own.  I don't mind donating it, but what if it's something that someone gave me & they stopped at the store & saw it & thought 'Isn't that funny?  I gave The Queen of Duckville a such-n-such JUST like this!'  And what if, the next time they saw me they said 'Hey, you'll never guess what I saw in the store!!  A such-n-such JUST like what I gave you!!!  How is that such-n-such workin' out for ya?'.... Or worse yet.... What if they BUY it for me (again) so I'll have a matched set?  Aaaack!!!  It's too much pressure.... Anyhoot... where was I?  Oh yeah.... pickin' up Bigfoot & droppin' off 'Three Bags Full'....

So I tell Bigfoot that we're going to go to this little church up the road that has one of those yellow Clothing Drop-Off boxes.  It's not really out of the way - just a different route home.  We pull in - at dusk remember - and the driveway 'Y's' in the front of the church.  Now mind you, I've never been there before, I've only seen it from afar and there isn't a soul around.... Bigfoot says 'Go this way (pointing right).'  I say 'Are you sure the driveway goes all the way around?'  'Yeah'..... So we drive along this narrow gravel driveway towards the back of the church - with no place to turn around - up a slight hill - in the dusky-dark - to a place I've never been before - with no outside light other than the headlights of the car... Then we turn left at the back of the church (because the donation box was to the back of the church) and ..... are you ready for this?..... WE BAJA ACROSS THE CHURCH LAWN.... down the hill to the front of the donation box.... The. Driveway. Did. NOT. Go. Around!!  Holy Chit!!!

Oh my, did we laugh our butts off..... Thank God no one saw us.... well... except maybe God.... and I'm hopin' He'll forgive us for our adventures....'cause none of us are perfect..... we're just ducky!

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

Didja Miss Me?

Well?  Didja miss me?  Hmmph!  I thought not..... Oh well, you too have a life to live.

The RV that was all ready to go camping, decided the week before, that it didn't want to go camping.  So we tented it.  We've tent camped for 12+ years and we have tons of equipment.  We have this HUGE portable garage that we bought one time when we were camping.  It ended up that we got this campsite that was right out in the open - nary a tree in sight.  It. Was. HOT!!  We needed some type of shade, so we found a Sam's Club & got a free 1 day pass & bought the garage.  It's really been great.  Better than the 30' x 40' blue tarp that we strung up one year.  Boy, did we ever look like a circus act with that thing.  Now it just looks like we're professional campers.

The day before we were due to leave we took the trailer to the RV place to clean out the stuff we needed from the camper.  The people there said that they'd had 2 offers to buy it, in the 3 days that it'd been sitting there.  I said 'Really?  Sell it!!!'..... King Turd said 'Sure, sell it if you get a good offer.'  We'd had a conversation a week or so ago about the money that we'd spent on the RV vs. the money that we could have put into a pool.  So, while at camp, I said let's crunch the numbers - the pros & cons of both..... So we did it & then I said 'The final decision is up to you.'  Result:  We still have a RV.  He decided that we probably wouldn't ever get the great deal on another RV (Thanks, Aunt G.!) and we had never used it.

We had a really great time.  The amusement/water park was fun.  I'd never been to a combo thing before.  It reminded me of a local amusement park that I used to attend as a child.  This place has been around for 30 years or more & I'd never been.  I'd never been on a midway or to an amusement park at night.  I've never seen a laser light show.  It was really fun to go & experience it with my kids.  Strange knowing that Bigfoot wasn't there too - I think he would have enjoyed it alot.  Sad that big kids grow up, move out & get a job.

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July too.

Bye!  Love you!  Have a good day, Dear!

The Black Hole

I think my desk is a black hole.  You know the kind that just sucks stuff in?  Every paper imaginable is on it, I'm sure a bunch that isn't even mine.  It's so big & bad that it's overwhelming.  HOWEVER, I MUST get to it today.  We're leaving for camp..... what if I forgot to pay a bill that's due?  Acckkk!!!  $64,318 in fees!!  Plus the jack your rate to 9 hundred-gazillion percent!  So.... I MUST get through it.  I have to sort & purge & .... I MUST get through it.... but it's scary... I might get sucked in too....

Wish me luck!

Bye! Love you! Have a good day, Dear!
